Cookie policy

A small file a site stores in your browser so it can recognise that browser on a later visit. It gives no access to your files, your camera or your bank account; it is used to count a visit, remember a preference and pick an ad.

Some are set by us, others by companies that deliver part of the page — that is the case for the ads and the video player. What you type into a calculator is computed in your browser or when the page is generated, and is not stored in any cookie.

This site has readers in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Italy. In those regions, and in the United Kingdom and Switzerland, personalised advertising may only be shown with consent collected by a platform certified under the industry standard. That is why a notice appears there first — and your answer counts: if you refuse, the ads stay but stop being personalised.

Outside those regions you can switch personalisation off at any time in your Google account ad settings, or through the industry opt-out tools listed on the privacy page.

Every browser lets you delete stored cookies and block new ones, per site or in general. Look for "cookies" or "site data" in your browser settings.

Blocking everything does not break this site: you can still read every page, see every series and use every calculator. What may stop working is the embedded video and the audience count.
